All Natural Hair Dye!

Review of All Natural Hair Dye

So this week I tried some Light Mountain Natural hair dye. It was an interesting experience to say the least. The dye itself is totally awesome. It’s made from henna, it’s good for you, and the company does not test on animals. You can order it online and it comes with a handy set of directions. The directions are very useful, except they do not really explain how long to leave in the dye. My hair does look darker after using the dye, but it is not quite “burgundy”. I plan on trying it again, and leaving it in for longer. If you have darker hair, I’d suggest leaving it in for 1-2 hours (I left it in for about 45 min). It’s best to do a strand test, which I did not do. Strand test means you cut a little bit of your hair and test the dye on the cut hair to determine how long to leave it in. I didn’t do that, because I am lazy. Do not be lazy.

In other news….the hair dye texture and smell is…unique. Okay it looks a little bit like elephant poop. And the smell is very earthy crunchy….and may be a little poopy as well. The smell is not pleasant, but I was not gagging or anything while I was sitting with the dye in my hair. It’s bearable. And worth being healthier. Smells are fine, toxins in your body…not fine.

In review, you’re going to make the dye, slowly cover chunks of your hair, leave in for…as long as your heart tells you, then rinse out with warm water. Best advice: follow the directions. Overall, this is a hippie-loving, totally awesome, weird smelling, worth-it product.

Hey folks, so no video this week because I am having an allergic reaction to…something! No one is quite sure what. Currently my face, back, and neck are covered in itchy hives. Yuck! But we’re going to make this to work. To relieve some of my itchy, scratchy, gross, and repulsive hives I made myself a bowl of oatmeal (just plain old oatmeal, probably left alone, forgotten on a high shelf in your home…that’s where I found mine!) and had my wonderful boyfriend spread it on my face. This in itself was very relaxing because the oatmeal was very warm and let me tell you, it was super soothing. Then when we washed the oatmeal off (I suggest dabbing a warm wet towel…if you wipe too much then it’ll just irritate your skin your skin all over again…I know because this happened.) Once removed my face felt a lot better and was not as irritated, I was able to sleep. No more waking up to frantically itch my skin. It also made my skin very soft, I would suggest an oatmeal mask even when your skin hasn’t turned into a tundra of volcanic eruptions of…unhappiness.

Hopefully by this time next week we’ll be posting a video of my hair’s transformation from dull brown with abandoned patches of purple to a wonderful and lustrous burgundy. I’m Ron Burgundy?
